Has anyone experienced this? A week ago, after I accidentally shut down the CPU incorrectly (by shutting off the power conditioner it was plugged into before initiating the shut down command), when I turned the system back on, I could not start a new session. I backed up all of the sessions from the recording drive (an internal ATA drive), to an external FireWire drive, reformatted the internal drive, and was then able to start a new session on the ATA drive. Today, when I went to restore one of the sessions, copying it back onto the internal ATA drive from the FireWire drive, that session's Pro Tools icon was replaced by some kind of generic grey document icon, Kind: "Unix Executable File". Double clicking on this "exec" icon brings up a dialogue box indicating their is "no default application specified to open the document" Choosing Pro Tools to open the session after navigating through the dialogue box merely launches P.T., it will not open the session. And if I attempt to open this session in P.T. by navigating through File/Open Session, I get the message that "this is not a valid Pro Tools session" Other sessions I backed up at the same time, on the same FireWire drive, are o.k.. Older backups of this session can be restored, and open up fine. They all still have the correct P.T. session icon. Any ideas as to what has happened or how I can fix it?
