Default Firewire Express Card - BELKIN OK?

I am about to purchase a firewire card for my laptop. I'll be using it for external HD's and possibly for an 003 later on.

The Digidesign-recommended SIIG is of course discontinued, but that seems to go without saying ... still, there are several makes out there that have the TI chipset.

I tried various forums but could not find out if people have experience with the BELKIN firewire express card, which has TI chipset and two F/W 400 slots. DOES ANYBODY HAVE EXPERIENCE OF USING THIS?

Thanks in advance!!

I'm not sure where you're looking for the SIIG or seeing that it's discontinued, but I found several sources for that card:

http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/FWCardExpCard2

Sorry, should have specified. I'm in Europe, and here it's hard to find. I ordered the product from Finland's biggest netstore for computer stuff, and they claimed it is no longer produced. They may be wrong, but I'm now in Paris (France) and ... no luck. I'd given up on finding it on the net, but perhaps one of the providers you suggested might be willing to send a card down to old Europe - thanks for the list! I'll refrain from buying the Belkin for now, then.

best,

Petter

Add (edit): have now ordered from the Amazon, thanks for the tip!
