Hard Disk Buffer Size
Hi, people. I´m searching for a good HD to connect to my Mac mini externally. I´d like to know what buffer size is preferable, or better if a 2MB buffer size disk would work with no problems... I'm planning to use it with a MBox.
Thanks and hope you can help me decide! |

For audio, a second dedicated drive is always recommended, and most drives come with an 8mb cache these days. A 2MB cache may work for you, say if you have one laying around, but I certianly wouldn't buy a brand new drive with a 2MB cache. I would reccommend looking into a firewire 400 drive, NOT a USB drive, as the preformance will be much greater for audio. Many people including myself have had great luck with the Lacie line of Firewire drives, and I've also had a Rocstor that preformed well. Hope this helps. Peace Kelsey
