Default D-Command Talkback via Cue Out

I have been using the slate output for the talkback function on the D-Command successfully for a while now. However there are some situations where I want to use the talkback via one of the Cue Outputs, and I am running into a strange situation. According to the diagram in chapter 4 of the user guide, I should be able to Assign Talkback to any of the Cue Outputs independently of the Cue Input Selection, Trim Level, or Cue Enable for that output. I am finding that not to be the case: the cue input trim is affecting the talkback volume, and the Cue Enable (“On” button) needs to be active to hear anything. In other words the trim and enable are being applied after the cue source and talkback signals are already combined. Is the diagram just wrong, or do I have a problem with our XMON?

you need to have the Assignee TB button light for the Cue for Talkback to go to the Cue (it's below the level encoder)

Right I got that, the problem is that the Cue Source level and Cue Source Enable (on button) need to be active as well, in addition to the Assign Talkback control and Talkback Level trim. (When using the Cue Out the Talkback is being trimmed in two spots, while the slate output is just being trimmed once.)
