Default Which is Better Audio Drive - SCSI or Firewire?

Just built a new PT LE system.
Windows XP Pro / 2.4 Ghz / 2Gb RAM

The system drive ( C:\ ) is a standard IDE drive (40Gb / 7,200rpm).
This is where I have XP, Pro Tools & all my applications installed.

For my Dedicated Audio Drive I have the choice of:

External FireWire Drive (Western Digital 120GB).
or
Seagate/Cheetah [9gb] 10,000 RPM SCSI Drive w/ Adaptec 2940 SCSI Card/Adapter.

Which would give the best performance for recording?

I've always been under the impresisons SCSI is better, but since I didn't see it listed on the Compatabilty page, I am thinking twice.

I realize the SCSI/Cheetah is sort of small at 9gb, but I'll only be using it for the actual recording/playback, should be enough.
I can store my audio files & sessions elsewhere (for retrieval later).

The other option I have is, to make the SCSI drive my `System Drive` & then make the IDE or Firewire Drive my Dedicated Audio Drive.

Suggestions?

SCSI without a doubt, i've been runnings some 9 gigs cheetah's and baracuda's(UW 68pins) since '97 and they still beat my brand new ide133 drives at any point, i even dropped them in the water once ( i'm so stupid somethimes)and they kept working ;-) . Be shure to check your adaptec card and your disks for what type of scsi it is, just normal scsi, wide or ultra wide ? 'cause those speeds are very diffrent ;-) . Just some minor point about those 10k rpm scsi's is that they make a hell of a noise, especially when they are in the recording room.

Cheers

Personally I doubt you will notice any improvement with SCSI nowadays. What you will notice is that your wallet will be a lot lighter with SCSI as an approved firewire case and drive will be a lot less money and a lot more storage space. Just my 2 cents worth.

External = Firewire
Internal = SATA (especially version II/150 drives and controller supporting Native Command Queuing)
