Default 003 Rack - control Surfaces

I've had a google and found varying conflicting bit's of information.

I'm just thinking out loud about the possability of a control surface for the rack 003 I use.

Are there any options ?

What is supported ?

I'm reading info about the mackie control, or the command 8, but both don't seem to have support.

you are definitely getting bad information. the command 8 is DESIGNED for pro tools, and mackie works just fine via HUI.

I'm currently using a Mackie Control Universal with the 003 Rack+ with no problems at all.

I personally am looking into the euphonix controllers. There is the mc control and the mix control. The cool thing is that the chassis are built so that if you want to expand and add another 8 faders(mix control) or add the mc control you can attach them together. I haven't really heard any compatibility issues with them either, But the two controllers you listed are also completely compatible.

I have a 003 Rack and have just added a PreSonus Faderport, I'm really happy with it. I'd suggest have a good think about what you're wanting to get out of a control surface, a single fader unit might just do the job for a fraction of the price and leave you more room on your desk too.

Alphatrack do a single fader unit too, I haven't tried one but I did some research and a lot of people who've tried both feel the fader on the faderport is of a higher quality.
