I have just installed the newly released Core Audio driver for my 002R (thank you Digi) as part of the Pro Tools 6.1.1 update. So far on my machine the driver works quite well with iTunes and TC Spark 2.8. No luck with DP4, however ;-( As soon as I try to change the hardware driver in DP to the "Digidesign HW" and click OK, DP shows me the spinning beach ball and that's where it stays. When DP is force quit and restarted, the same situation occurrs... I'll try reinstalling DP tomorrow; will let you know if there are any news...

I bought DP 4 and 002r thinking they would work. I used to use DP 1.7 all the time with my NuBUS TDM hardware. BUT, there is no way to use the 002r interface with the DP 4 (I think) as to hear your modules you need to make an AUX input, and it does not show up in DP4. Big Bummer.

I read somewhere about a software patch that will allow it to work? Anybody?

I recently switched to an 002 from a MOTU 896 and I hadn't fired up DP4 yet so your thread made me curious.

I too had the spinning ball problem, but managed to make it finally work. I

1. selected setup/configure audio system/configure hardware driver
2. selected the built-in audio controller and hit ok. The sound began playing out of my computer speaker. So far so good (no sound played previously)
3. I went through the process again, but this time selected the Digi hardware and clicked ok. It took a few seconds (or more) but the spinning ball disappeared.
4. My old track outputs were invalid (in italics now) so I had to select a new output (the digi outs) and everything worked fine.

Hope this helps.

Yep. Got it to work, too. Apparently it crashed because the buffer size in DP did not match that of the Digidesign's Core Audio setup's. Changing the buffer size within DP while still on "built-in audio" first, and only then changing to Digi's driver, worked. Thanks!

I still have not been able to make this set-up work. What should the buffer be set at? What about the "host multiplier"? If I change to the Digi HD driver, I get the beachball of death. PT 6.1.1 works fine, as does Peak and Spark. But DP 4 is NG.. Help please!

If you load the old version of DP... like 4.01 or 4.0, change the driver there to the digi one, then wait for the ball to go away (about 20 seconds max), then close out of that version and open 4.1, it should work. i was having the same problem and i did that and it worked. it saves the preferences from 4.0/.01 and automatically changes 4.1 to the digi drivers.

Yes, this totally worked. Thanks. You just helped me end 3 hours of frustration One last thing: what's the message about command bindings? Can I make that go away?
