Default Channel Name 2021-2020

Hi,

In my Dialogue Editing Session, I have a bug...When I open my AAF on Pro Tools 2020 My channel name on my clip view option is correct...I can see the names of microphones (boom, lavalier,...)

But on pro tools 2021 this channel name is completely random. and I waste a lot of time for my work.

I saw a post with a similar problem in 2013 but it doesn't seem to be relevant anymore. I contacted Avid and no answer for the moment

Has someone already had this problem ?

Thanks
Matt

the name's syntax seems to have changed

in the past I used to put a "." behind tracks - f.ex. kick kick. kick..
now I get an error message saying something like ". is not allowed in the last position of a name"

Maybe not your issue but I'm just saying that something changed. Could be related to problem

I've had issues importing AAF's into PT 2020 and opening that session in PT 2019. Suddenly all production sound channels were the first channel (boom 1). One time just the metadata, one time the actual sound as well.
Happened twice now, both very different circumstances, but both loading in 2020.12 or 2019.12 and opening in 2019.6. I believe importing production sound into media composer as wav instead of mxf might cause issues. And having mono files ending with _01, _02, _03 as production sound can cause issues. But I haven't investigated further what caused these problems. I'm sticking to whatever works for now, which is not PT 2020.

Hi, welcome to the community.

The first two times I needed to use AAF taught me one lesson. Never trust track names. Name them 01, 02, 03 etc and have the real track names on paper.
