Question Echo when trying to record?

I am getting aan echo when trying to monitor recording that makes it impossible to record. I changed the buffer, and did all the recomendations, but when I made the buffer to a lower number the worse the sound got, so I ended up havig to return it to 512k. The quality of sound it great, just the 1 second delay making it impossible to monitor and record at same time. What is up, any suggestions?

Pretty stout machine. You should be able to work at a 64 buffer for tracking

Does that board have direct monitoring? If so be sure to turn off software monitoring.
