Default pro tools 9 and multiple inputs...

hi, i'm planning to open a commercial studio at my home city focused on gospel and country music, i rarely with record more than 16 ch at once, currently have an m audio profire 2626, but i'm planning to get a presonus studio live 16, can i use both if it's required?

i'm planning to record in pro tools 9 using the studiolive and make the cues from there, and then mix inside pro tools using a command 8, or returning the channels recorded in pro tools to the mixer, mix it there and then record the final mix inside pro tools again. so i would really like if anyone can tell me if i can use the studiolive and the profire at the same time, or which work around do you guys recommend me? thanks

Default Re: pro tools 9 and multiple inputs...

According to Avid Aggregating is not supported....but perhaps/perhaps if you dont exceed the 32 i/o (physical) limitation and if the selected Interfaces will play well with
PT9 this could work.
Not sure if there is an clear answer to this,as it depends on the devices aggregation.

Q: Does Pro Tools 9 Support Aggregate Audio Devices in Mac OS X? (FAQ added 12/1/2010)
A: Mac OS X device aggregation of audio I/O hardware is not officially supported in Pro Tools 9. While certain configurations may work, they were not tested and qualified by the Pro Tools development team. The only exception to this rule is the "Pro Tools Aggregate Device" that is created upon launching Pro Tools to provide users of built-in Mac hardware with simultaneous record and playback capabilities.
