Default How do you solve this dilemma?

I have 192 I/O interfaces for my HD system. Most of the time I use them in +4 level situations. However, sometimes I'd like to use them in home studio type situations that have some -10 equipment. I'd like to put some of this equipment on inserts. However, only the 192 inputs can be set to -10, while the outputs stay at +4, right? So much for unity gain!

Thanks for any bright ideas.

Make a 15 db PAD using resistors. . . Try a Google search, many examples on the internet. Here is one example: Resistor Pad

I have a number of Pads with different attenuation, balanced and unbalanced. Some I built right into the cable, others are in XLR male to female sleeves. Inexpensive to built if you have a little soldering experience. Just be sure to clearly label 'em. . .

And if soldering isn’t your thing, Digi makes a snake with built-in padding. Check the product pages on the site.

IHTH.
