Default Pro Tools 10 Native a good alternative?

Hi guys,

i´m using Cubase right now on my PC. I record my stuff and mix it. Everything works fine... But I tested Pro Tools 10 and I love the workflow on it. Somone in the internet says this in a DAW comparison about Pro Tools:

"Pro Tools only stands out after spending $10k for HD. The sub-standard versions that run under $3000 (depending what hardware you bundle) only give you a tease of ProTools, and really taxes your CPU buffer when using 3rd party plugins and can disrupt sessions(although this happens with all DAWs, its more common in ProTools)"

Is that true? So I´m not able spend 10k for a HD system. But is a Native version so bad?

My system is a i7Quad 3,0ghz with 16gb ram.

Thanks in advance!
Max

That person is wrong and doesn't know what they're talking about.

The only issue with Protools vs. other DAW's is when using a lot of virtual instruments. This has been the case for years and applies even when using the top line HD systems. Avid is working on fixing that, but for audio, it's fine.
