Good old Cliff Azuki doesn\'t like memory sticks...
I get the same error as the now famous startup error when I remove a memory stick from my Protools computer. I use the memory stick because I ... disabled network cards.
The error continues until you put the stick back in the USB port. |

Re: Good old Cliff Azuki doesn\'t like memory sticks...
A wacky question?
Were you updating something or simply transfering files? is it possible that the system is looking ro run or start an update or program from the memory stick? if it was a update and you installed it from the stick. would uninstalling it, rebooting , dragging the update files to your desktop or another file and running the update program from there (after pulling out the memory stick post uninstall and rebooting make a difference? Cliff is not a popular guy these days!

Re: Good old Cliff Azuki doesn\'t like memory sticks...
I was playing with Protools/Rewire/Reason (full version) and remembered I had the PDF manual for Reason on the stick, which was in the notebook.
I wasn't updating anything, and I had rebooted just before. I removed the stick to read the manual on my other PC. The moment I remove it, Cliff comes to say "hi!" Not a big problem, but I thought it might be related. I do see that Protools has created a database on the stick though. Perhaps I can tell Protools to not bother with the stick, I haven't read all the manuals yet |

Re: Good old Cliff Azuki doesn\'t like memory sticks...
Found the workspace window, and set the disk to "Transfer" (it was marked as a recording device). That seems to do the trick.

Or why you would want to.
