Default Gain Level on CH. 5-8 ????

Hello Friends: I have a new question for you: I have a Digi002 and am wondering how do I set the gain levels on channels 5-8? There are only gain controls on channels 1-4.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you have either -10 or +4 fixed gain lavels. Gain is adjusted from the source instrument - not the audio interface. Ins 1-4 also act as a preamp which is why you have the variable gain.

Great I was just about to ask the same question. So if I wanted to mic up a 4 piece drumset straight into the 002Rack and record in real time with bass player, pianist and vocalist, what do you recommend?

Hey Hey!

You'll need additional preamps, either stand-alone Pres or a mixer whose direct outs you could take for those other four Line Inputs.

But 4 piece drums? If it's straight up traditional Jazz, you're ok with a mic between the kick and rack toms and a pair of overheads. But if you're doing anything else and by "four piece" you mean Kick, Snare, and Two Toms, then you're probably going to want mics on Kick, Snare, Hat, each Tom, a pair of Overheads, and possible a room mic or two. To do all that plus your Bass, Vocal, and two mics on the Piano, you'll need to max out also using the ADAT and S/PDIF digital inputs, so you'd need Pres plus Converters.
