Problem Importing Audio - Please Help

Hello DUC,

I'm having a problem importing audio into sessions.

The session is 44.1/24

Every time I go through all the normal steps: FILE > IMPORT AUDIO > click on the desired track which brings it into the regions in current file box > CONVERT > brings it into the regions to convert box > DONE > CHOOSE LOCATION > AUDIO FILES FOLDER > NEW TRACK… It creates a new track, but the track is blank… no sound, no wave form… just a long skinny line through the center.

My Rig:
Computer - Imac 17" Core Duo 2g
OSX 10.4.8
PT LE 7.4 (w/ Music Production Toolkit)
Digi 002 Rack
2 gigs of RAM
3 LaCie external Hds

What I’ve Done To Trouble Shoot:
-Tried importing different audio files from different locations
-Tried importing different types of audio files
-Tried importing audio files into sessions where I have previously been able to import audio files
-Tried dragging files in from the workspace browser
-Tried restarting PT
-Tried restarting 002
-Tried restarting the computer

All of this with no luck! Please help me. Its my brothers birthday and was trying to give him a treat and record some of his music but instead have wound up with this little nightmare!

In the list of threads, near the top, amongst the group of threads with push-pin icons next to them.

i just checked it out... didn't find anything. am i missing something - do you know of something specific there?

add re-installing PT7.4 to the list of things i've done to trouble shoot

anyone have any insight?

I have the same problem. I have PT 7.4cs3 installed on my desktop (macpro), also on my laptop (macbook), both running 10.4.8

macpro imports everything, laptop only imports aifs, not mp3 or wav files. Is there something simple, like a settings switch we've overlooked?
