Should have I warped before comping?

Hello,

I've already created my 2 track guitars to have a stereo effect by comping several takes and mixing in 2 different tracks (see attach).

After doing the comp I realized that the original takes have some timing issues here and there.

Because both tracks uses repeated takes, I wonder if I can edit (elastic-time/warp) one clip of the take and see the same editions in the other clips of the same take to avoid repeating the process in the entire song.

Any idea?

Back to the original question; Yes, I would have fixed timing issues before copy/pasting audio. Having said that, at this point I would chalk it up as a lesson, fix the timing issues and re-paste(or fix each section as the clips are now). Now you're thinking, "why would I fix each section?" and that's a good question. There really is no "correct" answer, but I suggest it as it would allow you to make slight alterations throughout the song instead of having things sound....well....like they were copied and pasted

What you describe IS possible with midi clips, but I don't know of a way to do that with audio(but someone else may know better). Its called "mirrored editing"

Yes! like mirrored editing! that was more or less the original question, you've got it.

I agree, it's a matter of being carefull on each step to get it right before continuing as opposed to fix the timing at the last steps.

But again, it was a question of last resource like... hey, I screwed it, is something like mirror editing but with "warp" editing?
