Very cool stuff ...

I hope to be as knowledgable as you one day!

For now I'll leech some presets of you

Also I've been wondering for some time: Is there a reason you tune down to B? A favorite band or? (I know Amon Amarth plays in drop B for instance)

It's a pretty common thing for metal players to tune down to B, C or C#. Bands like Slipknot, Disturbed et el, use those tunings in the majority of their songs. Personally, I prefer the seven string guitar, so to me it doesn't sound down tuned at all, it sounds normal - perhaps that says something about me.

And Benoni is a connoisseur of all things metal .

Cant argue with you there

I've been itching to get a seven string myself ... One of these days ...

I have the money but my parents will kill me if I spend it I've been telling myself if I get a return from my taxes I'm going to get it ...

And just the other day I saw one of these gorgeous Gibson Les Pauls with natural finish (kinda looked like this) ... It broke my heart not buying it . It must be hell and heaven to work at a guitarstore ... just think about the beauties that come and go ...

I'm quite lucky in that Les Pauls (and the cheaper Epiphone variants) and Fenders don't float my boat, so, I don't have to spend huge sums of money on guitars. So I have a few moderately priced 7's in my collection. An Ibanez RG7620, a Schecter Hellraiser 7 Diamond Series (soon I'll get a Jeff Loomis Sig) and another guitar that shall remain nameless , but, is becoming my experimental guitar.

And talking around parents is easy, you tell them that you will never need another guitar after you buy *this* guitar, it has all the best features and suits your needs exactly . They don't need to know that you will do the exact same thing the following year .

It's was a 900 € Les Paul Studio so quite moderately priced (it played insanely nice though)

Can't do the parent thing though I've already bought 7 guitars (currently own 3: also own a Ibanez RG 1570 I cant get rid off) so the: "this guitar has everything I need" thing won't play ....

You'll LOVE the Jeff Loomis signature Schecter !!! A friend of mine has one and the thing plays and sounds insanely nice ... I'm just not a fan of maple fretboards since I have extremely sweaty hands and the dirt because of that, collects extremely fast on a maple fretboard (at least it did for me) and they are quite hard to clean in my experience ...

You only own 3 guitars? What are we going to do with you . I currently own 7 guitars and recently I was this close - fingers very close togther - to buying an Epiphone Explorer 6 string not because it was good or I'd play it but just to look at . That's when you start to think you might have a GAS problem .

My guitar teacher has a Loomis model and he tells me it's great - I can't wait to get one.

Hello, I'm Verc, and I'm a guitaroholic .
