Is the 002 a good start for a dj to make music?
Ive been dj for 10years and would like to make my own beats and song from dance (house) to hip hop.
I just would like advice on whats a good start on product, hardware & software, just from looking, to me the 002 seemed like it had everything but seemed like alot to take in, any feedback would be appreciated, thanks guys! |

Re: Is the 002 a good start for a dj to make music
Welcome to the board!
As far as software goes, I would definitely go for Ableton Live if I was into that kind of music. I haven't used the latest release and only the previous release a bit but was very impressed by the features. Have a look at it. |

Re: Is the 002 a good start for a dj to make music
Pretty much depends on what you need. Do you need all those inputs? The reason why I first settled with the original Mbox was that I felt I'd probably never have to record a full band with it, thus I felt I didn't need the 002.
I believe the Mbox 2 pro model also have a built in phono preamp. I don't know how you work as a DJ, but that might be something you'd enjoy if you want to sample or what not? |

Re: Is the 002 a good start for a dj to make music
all I want to do is start making music, from house to hip hop, the only part of djing that i want to incorporate this studio is making a megamix sometimes.
so do you think the 002 is still to much? guitar center has one on clearence for $1400.00. mbox sounds great, I will look into this, thanks! |

Re: Is the 002 a good start for a dj to make music
We are talking 002 with faders and all? I think the Mbox would fill your needs since you probably won't need all the inputs of the 002. If you want the faders you could go for the comand 8 with that Mbox.... The 002 sounds like a bargain though.

yeah GC has the 002 with a bundale of software new in a box for 1400.00.
sound like its close to the price range of the mbox and command 8, but I get more with the 002. I guess i will go pick it up before they go!! thanks STIFF for all your help! |
