Default DB33 recording problem with sustain

Still so very new to this “older” tech, so please bear with me…
MP9 on Windows Vista (ouch! I didn’t really think about that a few years back)
I discovered the built-in DB33 and using an Maudio Keystation controller. I also have a Yamaha sustain pedal plugged into it.
After tracking and listening back, sometimes when I stop the transport at certain spots, the keyboard played chord will just sound forever. Usually I can restart the transport and it stops and plays normally. What’s up with this?? I know that times I’m not operating the sustain pedal correctly and I can hear that at times while tracking. (I’m not a real piano player but stab at it) I’m working on that part…
