So I just bought and installed pro-tools 10 upgrade (from 9) but used the wrong ilok account. I have a physical ilok with the old pro tools 9 on it, but not 10.
I contacted support and they want me to purchase a support code for $40 so they can transfer the activation/code to the correct ilok account. Is there any way around paying this? How can I do it myself? Many thanks! Alex |

Both accounts belong to me, I have access to both of them. Sorry, I should have clarified.

If both iloks are registered to you, you can transfer the license from one to the other.
And for future reference, the person at Avid was wrong. You do not have to pay for registration/activation support. |

I only have one physical ilok. But two accounts. I put pro-tools 10 on the ilok account that doesn't have a physical one attached to it by accident.

If the license is pending on one account and hasn't been downloaded to a dongle yet, then they can certainly move it for you. Be a nuisance until you get results. No ASC needed.

For my ilok accounts I accidentally registered pro tools 10 on username: --- when I meant to register it on username: ---

Hey bud,
You are in the wrong place for Ilok support, this is just a users forum to get help from other users, like you. Go to Ilok.com and sign into the account your accidentally placed the license in... Then select "Transfer License" or something similar... you then have to pay unfortunately to get the license over to the other account... I forget how much this is... or If you attempt to contact Ilok they may just throw it over for you, but that is hit or mis... Good luck and next time MAKE SURE you are placing the license in the right place. |
