Default CoreAudio Driver 7.4.2 won't recognize Digi 002 Rack

My last macbook was stolen, and I was using my Digi 002 Rack with it so I know it works. I installed the CoreAudio driver on my new computer and it doesn't recognize the hardware. The CoreAudio Manager says: Not Connected (HW not found) and the "HW Setup" button is completely grayed out and won't let me click it. I've tested my my firewire cable and it works fine. Can anyone help me?? Please!

I've been finding that if the 002 isn't connected to my computer at startup, CAD will not see it and not connect. There are times when this isn't the case, but more often than not, a restart with the 002 hooked up and powered on fixes the problem.

Frustrating, I know...

I've tried the on and off thing. I was wondering if anyone knew any issues with the CoreAudio Driver and Logic Pro 8. The person I bought my Digi 002 Rack from set up my last Macbook and it worked fine with Logic. My new computer doesn't seem to recognize it at all. Anyone have any idea?

The driver I used is the one at the bottom of this page called "Standalone Digidesign CoreAudio Drivers v7.4.2 (Mac OS X Leopard)": http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?...0&itemid=33009

I was planning to do a recording very soon so I'd appreciate the help. My Macbook, and Logic 8, seemed to recognize the driver just long enough for me to select my Digi 002 Rack in my preference, then completely stopped working. How can I get the hardware to work with my system and Logic 8? Thanks!

Macbook; 2.4 Ghz; 4 GB RAM; OSX 10.5.6
Digi 002 Rack; Logic Studio 8

Can you verify that the 002 indeed works? Anytime I see an 002 that the computer doesn't see, I suspect the power harness.

My 002 worked fine the last time I had used it, but I read another board that said "If you can't toggle the 'Mute', 'Solo' and Alt Src' buttons' respective LEDs on and off, then it is the power harness." My 002 indeed has this symptom and is stuck on 'Mute'. The problem is that I don't know where to get a new power harness or how to fix it. Any ideas?

Can anyone confirm that the audio driver I mentioned in my last post is the correct one for my computer and works with Logic 8? My computer details are in the last post as well.

Thanks for the responses!

Yes, that driver should work, but it sounds like you need to get your 002 repaired first.

Please contact Tech Support by phone and they'll be able to help you with this.
