Default Why are all the updates full installers now?

Why have all the latest updates to 10 and 11 been full installers instead of just partial updates?

I'd rather have a full install that gives me a program that's stable vs. an update patch. I haven't had any issues with either 11, 11.0.1, or 11.0.2 and would prefer AVID keep them as full installers.

Is your issue the file size?

In the case of 11, I would think drag and drop would require that they be full.

Exactly what I was thinking…I believe it is a good thing, since a full installer drag and drop insures there aren't any issues with a patch not installing correctly.

I use appzapper to do a clean uninstall, even if it wipes out preferences and such. I have found this is the best way to insure a solid install of the new software and helps keep the system stable and clean.

The file size really isn't all that bad considering…and even if it takes 30mins or so to download it, what's the rush? I rather have a solid install that takes a few extra minutes to download, than a patch that might cause issues or maybe even permission problems.

There will always be something to complain about, even if there really isn't.

Side note: It's like on the Reaper forum..someone was complaining about the frequency of updates. I couldn't help but ask.."You are complaining about a software company releasing an update every month or so?? That has bug fixes and added features??" I mean..you don't have to update right away do you? It's totally optional, especially if your system is already stable and working just fine. Strange days, Strange days indeed...

They kept screwing-up the patches.
