Default Audio Metering in Protools with Dollby local renderer

Hi,

I was wondering if you've found any practical solution for audio metering when using Dolby local renderer.

The best option would be being able to return a “live re-render” back to Protools but there is no way of doing so if I’am using all of the 128 Atmos channels…

I was wondering if there is any AAX plugin that I could insert in each Pre-dub masters and return to another for metering (some king of virtual audio cables)… at least I could meter 7.1.2 without objects…

Thanks for your help.

We use the Send/Returns for ATMOS instead of the DAB, so we can set up returns to meter.

In your case, you might try something like source nexus with the Youlean standalone meter and feed it from the source nexus feed.

Thank you Randall!
Unfortunately it seems like Nexus is 2.0 only, I use RTW Mastering Tools for metering, it would be nice being able to meter a 7.1.4 return or output of the local renderer…

Source Nexus, at least the Pro version will do 7.1. You can also use it in Multi-Mono mode. I don't know how that will work with the renderer, however.

You aren't using a MTRX by chance are you?

Thanks again, I'll give Nexus a try.
I use a Metric Halo interface, it seems like I managed metering with RTW standalone, using the Metric Halo´s internal buses.
I still wish that the Local Renderer would have some spare buses in order to send back to Protools for metering purposes…
