lost ability to control my transport

I dropped my wireless mouse while recording today and and when I picked it up, i could no longer control my position in the song anymore. My mouse still sets a cursor point when i click but it has no effect on the starting point. I hit return to zero and now it is stuck on zero. I can play the song but I cannot restet the starting point. I tried to set a record zone further into the track but when I hit record, it just start in a random place a few bars into the song. Very strange. Can anyone help me reset or ?? I have shut down and re- started but the problem is still there and it is the same on any file I try to work on. Thanks so much, Kelly Mulhollan

It sounds like the "Link Timeline and Edit Selection" button got unticked.

Edit window>Tools section. It's the button directly beneath the grabber tool button.
