Default Replacement buttons for S3?

Just wondering if it's a difficult thing to:

A) Obtain replacement buttons for S3?, and...
B) Replace them oneself or is a skilled tech necessary for the job?

Both the UP and Down arrow buttons on the right side of my S3 below the "View" buttons became cracked today. I've attached a picture. Before making this post I VERY CAREFULLY made a repair with super glue, applying it with a toothpick and the repair doesn't look half bad right now, but not sure how it will hold up. Really all that's needed is the little plastic cap that goes over the button. (Seems the nifty little window for the status light to shine through is what makes them weak?). I surely wasn't mashing down on it.

Avid doesn't sell individual spare parts apart from faders. It would have to be a return repair. (Open case with Avid if needed to get a quote)

Thanks, Eddie. That's too bad. I may just have to make do with my "repair" for now and/or keep an eye out for a non-functional unit to cannibalize for parts. I can't see it being worthwhile if it's gonna run more than a couple hundred bucks.

Plus you have to lose the use of the unit for a week or two or three. Kinda crazy actually, given that these buttons break in exactly the same way frequently. I've got two broken ones, and I'm perfectly capable of replacing them myself but you can't get them!

Yeah. I really wish Avid would reconsider their parts policy on those buttons. It seems as if it’s almost a design flaw. The little “windows” for the status light weaken the structural integrity of the buttons.

Please, Eddie… since this unit is EOL, maybe you could ask someone up the chain of command to sell the buttons as well. It’s a great unit but now I’m kinda bummed out about the buttons. I don’t have room for multiple S1s.
