Default Seagate Expansion Desktop 2TB (any issues)

Hi,

need to purchase a new drive and these are on special in OZ for around $140. Sounds like a good price....anyone had any negative experiences?

Seagate Expansion Desktop 2TB USB 2.0 (btw I run windows 7 which supports USB 2.0)

Not used that drive but FWIW I do use the 2TB Western Digital Elements Desktop Drive with LE 8.0.4/Windows 7/USB 2.0 - no problems at all.

This drive is currently sold by Office Works for $128.00. Also used the 1TB version previously without probs.

Hard to say since the specs don't list the speed. Check the package and make sure the drive is 7200 rpm, and NOT a "green" drive. You could also buy a raw WD Caviar Black drive and a generic USB2 case

The WD elements drive is 7200 but also I note is a 'green drive'. I've not had any problems with that at the moment (in fact I was unaware that it had that feature) but you might want to avoid it for that reason.
