I did exactly what you describe, but the software asks me to update a file -
V8.0.0.314 That the C24 is currently programmed for an older file. The problem is that the software can not update the file. Connections right and what is not working in C24 is only part of the MONITOR. That is, there is no incoming or outgoing sound and the parameters of the 24 MONITOR not work. Thr older file in c24 is - v7.4.0.309 |

I had the exact same issue. No monitor section, in utilities, no fader tests, LED etc.
Fix is to run the C24 with PT8, even if it's PT8 on a laptop. To clear firmware, turn off C24, press select, solo, mute and power on C24 . Run PT8 HD or LE, scan ethernet periphs, then it should ask to load the 8 firmware. Then run PT9 and the C24 should appear. Last edited by Buccanears; 11-22-2010 at 03:23 PM. Reason: more info |

Not sure if this is still true, but previously, all Firmware updates are "downloaded' from the Pro Tools install, NOT from the internet(no internet connection required).

Indeed there is a problem in version 9 (I spoke with the support of AVID) I installed the version 8.3 and everything is fine.
Now I understand that you can install the version 9 and it will work? |

That's correct - no need to update the firmware at this point for it to work properly with Pro Tools 9.

So what is the issue?
Or is there no issue? The above is unclear. Install 8.3? then PT 9? HD system at 8.0.4cs2 and working. I concur - the answer here is confusing.
I have 8.0.1 with a c|24 and thinking about 9, am I going to have a problem? Please clearly outline the C|24 upgrade path to PT9. |

If the C|24 is the version of Firmware V8.0.0.314 you will not have a problem.
I have the C|24 whit the Version 7.4 version. ProTools 9 could not make the transition to Firmware V8.0.0.314 - So I had to install the 8.3 and only then delete and install 9. |
