A friend of mine is a programmer for a audio software company on a different platform. He says they can't make it happen because the problem lies in the Drivers for the audio cards and the Direct X/VST formats. However, Digi rolls their own from the ground up. No Excuse! (I still love PT)

Default track/plugin delay, question/solutions?

hey digi,.....!!!!

how about playing those plug-in-delayed
tracks inversely early,...off the hard drives?

that is, if the total plugin delay is
500 samples,.....
that track, in play/scrub/shuttle mode would play 500 samples early,.....

if it wouldn't work,.....please explain

What difference should it make whether you're using DirectX, VST, or TDM? The program still has to know exactly when to start each track, so what's the difficulty in starting them at different times?

We already know this can be achieved in Pro Tools (using the TimeAdjuster plugin). It seems to me the only real issue is the coding time involved in implementing this valuable feature. I hope that if it's included in the new version of Pro Tools (HD), we'll be able to use it with the older (current) hardware!
