I am not a “web surfer” kind of guy. This is the only forum I go to. In 2004 I did look at a lot of “prediction” sites as I was very interested in getting a large monitor as soon as possible (it turned out to be the 30” inch Apple monitor that I now have). I have a great deal of difficulty with my eyesight and wanted to magnify everything as much as is reasonable and get it as soon as possible.
I have plenty of Mac Pro related problems. As this is not the proper place to post general computer difficulties I was hoping to be directed to the “best” forum on the Internet. I would prefer a site without four letter words and arguments. I feel that Digidesign is doing a reasonable job with this forum so I was hoping to be directed to a similarly supervised site where I can ask questions that a businessperson could post and get intelligent answers. I look for posters like Steve MacMillan, dmazurek, Eric Lambert, uno123, crizdee, Andre Knecht , Lee Blaske, MARVINBASS, Chief Technician, Rail Jon Rogut, jimlongo, studiojimi, Wolfgang Eller, Mark Wheaton, Eric Seaberg, Mt.Everest, and of course DigiTechSupt when I am at the DUC. I am hoping to find help of this level for general Mac problems. Christopher Kimball C.K.'s Musical Workshop 4090 West Eaglerock Drive Wenatchee, WA 98801 509-667-0648 [email protected]

Really, I think your best bet for general Mac questions is to go directly to the "Discussions" area on Apple's website. Apple runs a fairly tight ship, so you shouldn't be bothered by much obscenity.

I do check with the fori on Apple’ site when I try to address a specific issue.
When I want to scan the horizon for trouble looming ahead (i.e. prior to upgrades, or just because), I tend to read Rick Ford’s excellent Macintouch site, as well as MacFixIt. Of course, there are many more — expect more fellow DUC travelers to chime in. IHTH.
