Lalaman,

I was getting the problems without the wavedriver installed. Does this mean that this "fix" doesn't apply to me?

Uh, , canīt really say.
But you could install the wave driver which in its install routine as someone said must have an option to permanently set the "hardware setup" within PT they way desired, / or change the permanent setting through wave driver after install.

I can think of this to help you too.
Should it not you could just uninstall wave driver again or reghost the system.

But itīs certainly worth a try .

Greets,

Lalaman

So let's see if we can sum up one aspect of the progress so far:

Is it accurate to say that if the Digi Wavedriver is set to ANY digital mode, then that stops S/PDIF mirroring checking and unchecking crashes?

no, sorry i have to say. it won't solve the problems.
tried every digital setting. had the crashes like usual when changing to sp/dif, and when checking the syncsettings of the wavedriver it was back on analog (PT changes it).
tried with the wavedriver uninstalled; the same result...
if DIGIDESIGN is not willing to help, we're forced to buy PT 6.1 or don't use the SP/dif connection...
Mike?

If PT is changing it back to analog then something is not right about the way you appear to be doing it.
Do this;
Device Manager, then Sound, video and game controllers, then Digi Wave driver, then properties, then expand to show Digi Wave driver.
Select that and go to properties, select settings and set CH 1-2 format to something other than analog.
Click on advance if you want to see the current hardware settings for the Digi001.
Then try opening PT and making the change and see if you get a crash or it accepts it.
Let us know what your outcome is.

I wonder what caused it to go back to analog.
I am curious as to what the variable between your system and mine could be?
Once I make another image I'll try to see if I can make my system not hold the selection.
Are you AMD or P4? I'm on a P4 but that shouldn't matter.

Joe,
Thanks for the Easter egg.
Maybe there is hope.
Further testing should be done.

Swap,

your wellcome as always.

I also found today by another crash that the setting in wave driver changes after reboot back to analog.

Not tomorrow - as I have tracking with some singing birds -, but within the next days Iīll try out reinstalling wave driver and see if it can be made to stay permanently on not-analag.
Letīs see if it can be made.

Crashing Lalaman
