I've also got the Gigabyte Z490 Vision D and the ethernet ports don't work for the Carbon. I can also confirm that a Ethernet -> TB2 adapter into a TB2 -> TB3 adapter does work. I tried a Ethernet -> TB3 (USB-C) and it doesn't work. I'm running a UAD Satellite between the two adapters btw and can turn the unit on/off without any issue, so it is possible to run a Carbon with a Hack. Has anyone had any luck installing a NIC that supports AVB though?

No, I can’t use Carbon with my motherboard‘s internal network adapter because it doesn’t support AVB.

The thunderbolt card did not work for me, you might have better luck though, it „almost“ worked..

I am looking to add the thunderbolt 3 card soon and will post the results here!

If the past is any indicator, Apple will probably support Intel Macs 4 to 6 years after they stop selling Intel Mac Pros. I just Hackintoshed my z490 Vision D and I couldn't be happier. Very few issues or workarounds I'm dealing with (When I receive my Carbon that'll be one workaround). I'll be happy to use this rig till I can't update it anymore due to hardware limitations.

I'd love to hear how it works out! Timing to me looks like it would be easy to run a new ProTools Hackintosh rig for 5-7 years from now... plenty long for an update cycle. I will probably do that unless Apple really surprises with new machines, both on function and price.

Hi there, would you mind letting us know which TB3 card you are using to run Carbon? I've tried it with Sonnet Solo 10G but having the same issue with others and Carbon disappears after few mins. I'm running on Asus ROG STRIX Z390-F GAMING motherboard.

Thank you very much in advance

It's the Usb-C embedded in the motherboard (Gigabyte Z490 Vision D)

Been running Carbon in my Hackintosh for a week now and it's a keeper. I can tell it's an upgrade over my HD I/O sound-wise and is so easy to use...it just works. From what I have seen in M1Pro and M1Max MacBook Pro's don't expect to pay anything less than $2600. This is the reason I decided to hack my z490 and be done with it. Before I pay an arm and leg for a new Mac Pro I'll hack the z690 mobo or whatever comes after that.

Quick update, after installing a Titan Ridge card in my z390 hackintosh the Carbon works flawlessly with it, had zero problems or connection issues.
