2.8GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.3GHz
16GB 1867MHz LPDDR3
1TB Fusion Drive

pt loves i7....instead of i5 processors,
and fusion drives are pure poison for pt.

get a 4 core i7 , a HD or SSD for OS +PT and a seperate HD for Audio instead,
btw memory is fine, lol

regards

Since Macs can't be downgraded to older OS versions, make sure PT can run on whatever software version your new Mac supports.

Thx but not finding an SSD at the Apple site for the 21" iMac 3.1GHz Processor
1TB Storage. The options are here.

"Flash Storage" is SSD. Looks like the 512GB is worth the money, no way I would pay $630 for 1TB

P.S. when you configure your options, make sure to select a keyboard with numpad. It doesn't look like they charge you for that particular upgrade.

Default Re: New iMac

Just got up and running with the iMac below. This replaced a 27" i3 iMac running PT 12.4. OS X 10.9.5. I am surprised how well the i3 ran but, there was some GUI lag....

27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display
4.0GHz quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 4.2GHz
32GB 1867MHz DDR3 SDRAM - four 8GB
512GB Flash Storage
UAD Apollo Twin replacing FireWire Duet
Line 6 Helix Rack replacing Eleven Rack
