Default Anyone Using the new M-Audio Project Mix I/O ?

Just wondering if anyone uses the M-Audio Project Mix I/O controller/interface?
If so: Is it intergrated well with pro tools? Any stability issues? Is $999 a good price?
I am ready to make a purchase.

Thank You,
Tom

Better make the purchase soon if you want one, cause the price is going up
next week from $999 to $1,249(as advertised on Audiomidi.com) It's going to
have a $1599 MSRP to begin with. Not sure why this is,other than apparently
there has been quite a demand for them. I would probably spend the extra cash
and maybe go for an 002. I'd be willing to bet Digi may unvail something new
at next weeks Winter NAMM.

I was considering a Project Mix myself, but now at a higher price point, I'm
gonna hold out and see what happens.

Can still get it lots of places for $999:

8th street
American musical

...and I'm sure a few others.

Now Sweetwater has it for $1250, but it comes with the full version of Ableton Live.

Keep in mind that if you want to use it with Pro Tools you will also have to purchase Pro Tools MPowered ($250) as well.

I think it's still too new for review, though. I don't know anyone who has one (yet).

Thanks for the quick replies!
We may have a review soon, as I may purchase one today.
I'm tired of shuffling tracks from my VS-1880 to M-powered, 2 at a time in order to edit and process with pro tools.

I just picked up a Project Mix on Friday. So far - initial results are positive. A firmware upgrade was available to fix issues I was having with the scroll wheel.

I have an Averatec laptop - it's a 1.6 GHz processor. I can easily track all 8 mic pres with very little latency.

I have had to re-install the drivers once. Sound from normal Windows apps stopped appearing on the Project Mix. I think this was probably an error that I created. Even with this condition, audio in Pro Tools still worked fine.

If you have specific questions, I'm happy to answer them. However, I won't have it in a tracking situation until next Sunday, so I'll consider writing a more compreshensive review then.

Just hooked up new ProjectMix I/O, however I can't seem to get it to communicate with pro tools.
The audio interface portion seems to be functioning fine.
When I go to setup within protools it shows up, except in the Peripherals/ MIDI Controllers dialog it is not listed as an option in "receive from". The only choice is "none".

I've uninstalled/reinstalled twice using the latest drivers for the website.
Please help

Thanks,
Tom

Any luck getting it to run?

I run a 1.6 Ghz AMD Averatec 3250 series ... 512 MB of RAM. No external harddrives or any of the flashy stuff that people tell you you "must have." No onboard FireWire, either ... just Widnows completely stripped to run only OpenOffice, Guitar Rig, ProTools, and FireFox.

The project mix ran flawlessly this weekend. I ran four drum mics and a guitar w/guitar rig with no noticeable latency.

I did have one annoyance. This board lacks onboard pads. On the other hand, for the price I paid, I think having to hook up with some external pads is no big deal.

Any comments on the audio quality guys?
Especially if you've used other DigiLE hardware...

i'd also like to know about the quality. im seriously considering buying this interface. it looks awesome and very complete. The only thing i can't figure out is how to add effects! There are no effects sends/returns or anything like that (on the rear in pictures i've looked at anyway) for example, if i wanted to add a sonic maximizer or aural exciter to the first 4 channels.. without running through a mixer first, how would i go about doing this through the interface?
