Default Transferring license from one mac to another

Hi there. My first post so I hope it's in the right area.

I have a mac mini with the mbox 2 installed with all the software in the ignition pack. Everything is registered and licensed.

I'm reveiving my IMac 20" 2.1ghz tommorow. How do I go about transferring all my software from the mini to the Imac? Will the migration assistant do everything for me?

I also unfortunatly only have a dial up connection at home, and I see that the new Imac's don't have this feature any more?

Any help would be appreciated.

That's a really good question. I think there's something to the effect of being able to register two computers with PT, but that's about it. Check the Answerbase and FAQ.

and from what I've read about the 'Migration Manager' it's not so hot - I think it only 'migrates' whatever you have in your user folder, not what's in the main Applications folder, so moves all of your content (in theory) but assumes that the new computer already has all the applications. Check Apple's message boards - I think a couple people have had their hard drives erased as well - use with caution -

You have to buy the USB modem for the new imacs.

I wouldn't use the migration assistant on a PT rig, definitely install PT fresh from your CD or latest web installer. If there are other apps and documents you want to transfer to your new Mac, use a firewire cable and target disk mode and do it manually.
