Default Pro Tools DAE Error -9060. Help!

I had pro tools working fine. It was fun. I was loving it!

Then... something went wrong with my computer and I called Gateway Tech Support. They had me repair Windows XP from my system disc. Ever since, my Pro Tools doesn't record anymore. Whenver I hit "Record" it pops up with a message saying "A DAE Error -9060 has occurred." So, now I have Pro Tools and I can't even record with it.

I called up Digidesign Tech Support. He told me to trash my preferences files. Didn't help. He told me to turn off my Raid Controller. Didn't help (cause I don't even have one). He told me to fix bad sectors on my hard drive. I ran a bunch of software and they all say I don't have any bad sectors. He said to try a Firewire hard drive. I tried one and it didn't help. He told me to uninstall and reinstall Pro Tools. It didn't help. He told me to backup my hard drive, reformat my hard drive, and then reinstall Windows XP.

HOLD ON!!!

I am not quite ready to take that step. There must be something else I can do besides deleting my whole drive and reinstalling Windows.

I called Gateway and they said they can't help because it's not their software.

Please help me!!!

BTW, I am using:
Digi 002rack
Gateway 500s Desktop
2.4 MHz Pentium 4
756 MB RAM
Windows XP Home Edition
80 Gig internal Maxtor Hard Drive
80 Gig Firewire External Edge Hard Drive

Default Re: Pro Tools DAE Error -9060. Help!

How about an XP restore to a previous time before the tweaks suggested by the Gateway tech support?
