phase rotation? group delay? comb filtering?

Hi friends!
I was recording an electric guitar last week with the following set-up:

02R channel (1) - Beta 57close miking a Peavey Combo

02R channel (2) - AT4050 capturing the room

02R channel (3) - direct box getting a feed from an ART EFX processor

I was first monitoring in the stereo buss of the 02R and inverting phase, making different blends of sound so as to have a better tone.

Then I decided to get the 3 channels out from the main mix and send them to a single track of my PT Mix via an ADAT bridge 24 bits light piped from the CD8At slot card.

I was monitoring the combi at TAPE 1 return on the 02R. The sound was different, like phased. I had to reblend the mics and the direct out box to achieve the same tone we had approved when in teh main stereo mix.

The Pt mix is on a G4 800 set to internal clock and the 02R is slaved to it at slot (1).

what would we call this? phase rotation? group delay?comb filtering?

Are you sure you have unchecked the 'stereo/master out' from the 3 input channel? IMHO sometimes we often forget that we hear from both the direct out from the channel input along with the tape return.

Yes Bokir, the sound was not duplicated. then it would become even stranger...
