Default Automation question

I'm trying to draw automation panning data to a track in sync with movement on a dv movie. What settings do i need to use to make the movie advance/retard in time with the moving of the pencil tool ?

I have seen it done, but i'm not sure how i need to set the system...

Hi,

I'm not sure but,(I'm not in front of PT right now)

go to set-ups>Preferences>Operations

There are some boxes you can check/uncheck.

If I remember correctly, there are some about following playback and such.

Hope this helps

Ben

thanks ben,

i did something in the prefs that i think is what you refer to, and it did allow the movie to play in sync and the insert points to reset to wherever i stopped the playback. Unfortunately it did n't seem to cure the problem. And annoyingly, when i installed the 6.2.2 update, it erased the digi user guide and didn't replace it, so i'm going to have to trawl through the website to find it again!

I tried to figure it out (didn't get a manual either) and it kind of works with the scrubber tool. But when you turn movie to offline it stops working and switching movie back to online it won't do it anymore. The scrubber in an audio track will scrub the video but I would like to know also. Video is extremely taxing on my system I just found out. Do you need to worry about audio offset with digital when tracking to a vid like this?
