Re: How to map a send to a plugin instead of just a fader?
Hmmm, I've been using PT for 20 years and never needed or wanted this. Having said that, maybe there are options the OP is missing, such as:
1-add another screen so some plugins can remain open on their own screen(hit the red "target" in the upper corner of a plugin to keep it open). 2-instead of clicking on a send to open it, keep the row of sends showing the small fader(Ctrl-click on the little chiclet next to any send box).

Re: How to map a send to a plugin instead of just a fader?
Thanks for all the help, sadly figured it might be impossible.
It makes sense now. It just looked so fluid but I did think of that too: If multiple plugins are on a send then what? But also I guess the point of the workflow is simplicity and quickness: So either those other plugins would: Not be in use, not show anyway, or would be at a fixed setting while controlling the one plugin that you want to use. In any case thanks for all the help, If I find any way to get close or any types of workflow improvements in this style ill respond here. Thanks Everyone. Also, I saw someone mention the the gif is hard to see, It is. Here are the timestamps on YouTube: 1:41 , 1:50. Again. It looks so smooth to not have to scroll to the aux or track that you are send to, but I can do without if need be. |

Re: How to map a send to a plugin instead of just a fader?
It's just how plugins work in PT.
Either you have the plugin inserted on one track - or you have it inserted on a aux track; most often you do that to be able to use sends to be able to have several tracks share the same plugin. Typically a reverb on a aux that more than one track can send to. Also there is Audiosuite. Pull up a plugin from the Audiosuite menu and you get a floating plugin window, select a region on a track, and process that region with the plugin. IzzyTay88; I see you edited the post with the gif to ave more info and links to video - I think it would have been better if you created a new post with the new info. More tidy.
