Default Solid State Logic GUI preset menu location, at the bottom?

I love SSL, but why did they decide to put the presets at the bottom of their plugins?

It throws me off as I always shoot for the top part of the GUI where 99% of plugins usually have their preset menus and then I realize the SSL's is at the bottom and it annoys me every single time hehe!

I think it will take me years to get used to choosing my presets from the bottom part of a plugin..

I feel like sending SSL an email to complain so they can change the GUI!

Anybody else feel the same way?

Is this a serious problem or what? Probably not.

Still curious about this.

Any SSL users out there annoyed by the preset menu location at the bottom of the plugins?

I agree. My solution is to save commonly used presets in the Avid preset list as you would do with stock plugins.

I am much more annoyed by SSL channelstrip 2 GUI not being able to be resized. On my laptop it's all sized wrong and is difficult to get to the bottom of the plug in where the presets are... not that I use them all the time

Same. I save them in both places.

Good idea.. No coffee, no thinky..

Why don't all or at least most AAX plugin makers use the classic Avid style preset menu?

Plugin Alliance uses classic Avid style presets and I really appreciate it. Sonnox as well.

Waves for example? Don't like it.

Shouldn't all AAX plugins conform to the Avid stock preset menu style? (probably not but anyway hehe..)

They do it so you can have the same presets no matter which host or plugin format you're using.

I don't find Avid's preset menu to be my favorite. Far from it. UAD's comes to mind as useful. And Weiss's. Back when I used SSL plugins I avoided their presets because in those days they used the Finder-based load/save system which I thought was awful. I guess I'd used flexverb's presets once or twice and thought that that was an improvement. Definitely room for improvement.

FWIW, I'd say about half of my plugins keep their presets somewhere other than the top.
