Default 11 R reverb

A couple things.

1. How would I RECORD a mic signal with 11R processing on it?

2. How would I add 11R reverb or other 11R effects AFTER laying down a dry track? (I presume these effects are different from the series embedded in PT).

Thanks

1: Set the Mic input as the Rig input.

2: Re-amp. You cant just apply effects like plugins, you have to send the audio out, through the 11R with the effects active, and then back in. Its much easier to just use a plug in to add reverb, compression, and eq during the mix.

1. Would like comment on quality of reverb using 11R as outboard unit vs RTAS plug in that comes with PT.

2. Can I use RTAS plug in without permanently affecting track?

3. Still interested in sending dry signal out to 11R and back to new channel then mixing dry and wet like the old days. I would love details about how to do this.

1. I dont feel there is anything special about the Reverb in the 11R, dont get me wrong, it good - but what is included in PT will work just fine IMHO. I use 3rd party reverbs in mixing.

2. Yes. Thats a main point of mixing in the box, flexibility, and non destructive.

3. Just setup the I/O as would for anything else. If you need tips, just look at the Eleven Rack Manual. I really dont know why you would want to do this, unless you are re-amping bass or guitar, or have a piece of outboard gear you want to run tracks through. Its much easier to use plugins and route things in-the-box. You can still mix wet any dry in the box with plugs, you could duplicate the track, and/or use sends/buses ect...

Benoni,

You said "Set the Mic input as the Rig input"

How? Wouldn't that only allow input from your Guitar Input jack?

For the mic to go through the Rig, set the Rig input to Mic.

Do it from the 11r Window in PT or hold Edit/Back, select RIG INPUT and choose Mic.
