PT 2022.6 on Mac Big Sur 11.6

Hi,

I've just updated to PT 2022.6 on Mac Big Sur 11.6.

Since the update, most of the midi functions have ceased to work.

The compatibility grid says they are compatible.

Anyone know if it's a bad combo?

I had it working fine when I was using PT 2021 on Mac Big Sur 11.6.

Re-install you midi apps and they should work. I had to do this.

I understand you're trying to be helpful, but you should understand that this community have quite successfully managed to maintain a good level of precise and to-the-point exchange of information, unlike many other forums that suffer from a breakdown of factuality and general common curtesy.

The OP is asking about midi functions in protools after a PT update, not about other midi apps. I think perhaps you were a bit careless in replying without thinking it thru and making shure you understood the question.

I'm on Big Sur, running PT Ultimate 2022.6. Aside from the usual intermittent crashes, it's working fine here.

Plenty of people reporting midi problems with 2022.6 on this forum.
Just look at the list of recent threads or do a search for "midi".

Some people are reverting to 2022.5

Indeed. Having issues with midi quantize.
Thinking on reverting to 2022.5 since I am currently in heavy midi world.

I don't get it - Why is Avid claiming they are compatible? Clearly they aren't if we have to roll back

Just upgraded to Monterey. But 2022.6 is compatible with Mojave. It's just that this release has some annoying quantize bugs with midi.

Compatible simply means that the application is compliant with the platform (operating system). It does not mean that there are no coding bugs. This MIDI quantize bug is a "bug," not a compatibility issue.
