Should I buy a used Control|24?
I am planing to buy a used Control|24 for 3000 euro's next week. But I read some posts that it is at its end of life, now the C24 is shipped.
Am I doing the right thing to buy this Control|24? Or should I not do this? What are the plans of Digidesign for supporting the Control|24 in the future? I use a Mac Pro (intel), with Protools LE 7.3 with a Digi002 Rack. Please give me some tips, if this is a wise move for me. Thanx a lot! Collin

Re: Should I buy a used Control|24?
It's a really difficult one, I am in the same position. I have decided against for now. For the following reasons. I also have a 002R by the way.
I have a Mackie Control plus an XP, so the Control 24 would be better than this and certainly look better, but I already have better pre-amps than in the Control 24 (Focusrite 428 and Liquid Channel). So it seems expensive for an extra 8 faders and the image (I don't rent out so the wow factor is not an issue). I use Logic, so my current controller is fine with both systems. The monitor section would be useful, but so many people say it's terrible. I have just bought a Mackie Big Knob and that seems to cover that gap. I know it is always users who have problems who are most active in forums, by nature, but there does seem to be reliability issues with Control 24, just read this board. Again, my system is pretty solid and the Control 24 is something I would like rather than urgently need, so common sense says to steer clear. Having said all that I am tempted to keep the funds available and look seriously at a new C|24. Clear as mud Paul

Re: Should I buy a used Control|24?
I would wait to see what the new one gets for reviews. If the new mic pre's are good, that alone would be a good selling point. I hope DIGI addresses some of the other problems as well.
