(Which reminds me of another infuriating thing: when you're working have a MIDI or instrument track in the main edit window and the up and down arrows stop acting as they should and move notes instead. So inconsistent) |

Re: Niggling things
Batch renaming clips that are full length audio files in the bin (in bold) should also rename the audio file in the Finder (Mac) — or at least make it an option to do so. I NEVER want to rename the clip without renaming the file.

And, yet, Avid persists to ignore us. (for a change that would take next to no coding -- this isn't one that would take any time at all)

Re: Niggling things
Hang on, is that actually what happens?
I’ve never used batch rename, but you guys are saying if you rename the parent clip in PT, it does NOT rename the file in Finder? How does that work? It’s just renaming metadata of the file then? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The only "work around" is you first "batch rename." And then, while the clips are still selected from the batch rename process, you go into regular "rename" and hit enter for as many clips as you have which advances through the selected clips. That transfers the new clip name from the batch process to the file (if the clip is a full file.) It is beyond tedious. Avid has given some stupid excuses why it isn't an actual batch rename including file names. None of them make logical sense.

Re: Niggling things
If I only had to rename a handful of clips at a time, okay, no big deal. However in my workflow I'm typically renaming about 80-100 clips at a time, and I only have a 10 seconds or so to do it. So I have to use a non-optimum workaraound which is a drag.

Here's another one:
Dear Avid, when I re-activate a VCA track (after being inactive), please keep active the the tracks' group. It's greyed out and not functioning, only if I re-select the group in the VCA track.
It's quite annoying one would say. Thanks.
