MBP/FW Drive/002R
Hello,
I am getting ready to use my new Macbook along with my OWC FW drive (7200 rpm) and 002R to run backing tracks in a live concert situation. Being that the Macbook Pro only has one Firewire port I want to be sure that I run all the devices in question in the correct series. MBP>external FW drive>002r or MBP>002r>external FW drive I tried having the drive sit in the middle of all the devices and the PTLE did not see the 002r. I put it after the 002 and got an error. Also, the OWC is an On The Go 7200 version that is bus powered. I chose bus powered so that it is one less thing to go dead on stage if someone trips over a cord and pulls it out of the wall. Can someone point me in the best direction for this setup? Thanks!

Re: MBP/FW Drive/002R
Your first example is correct, and what Digi recommends. Computer>Drive>002. Not sure about the other issues.

Re: MBP/FW Drive/002R
Bus powered won't work because the two devices draw too much off of the max from the firewire bus (even though the 002 is powered, it still draws some current, though little.) You need to power the drive.
