Laptop recommendations for PT 12

Hi,

It's time to replace my Rain Livebook which is getting pretty old.
I have an Mbox 3 pro so I need something with either a firewire port or a PC card slot and while there are plenty of options out there it seems that most don't have firewire or PC card.

The Asus ROG line seems to come highly recommended for music production but again no firewire or PC card.

What are the PT laptop users using these days?

The Avid supported laptop list is pretty dated so not much help there.

I'm looking for something that pretty top-of-the-line right now as i'll be using it for the next several years.

....since the asus g750 rog (great machine for PT12) , which i use , has thunderbolt ports ,
its maybe possible to use an TB>Fw adapter/port if changing the interface isnt an option

i dont know any recent powerfull enough laptop with fw ports
or pc-cards tbh

Is anyone here successfully using a FireWire to TB adapter with an mbox 3 pro?
I've always heard that using any kind of adapter for an audio interface isn't a great idea.

Haven't used the adapter with the Mbox 3, but it worked flawlessly with a Saffire Pro 14.

that's good to know but it would still be great to get confirmation from someone using an mbox 3 pro on thunderbolt and windows as I have no plans to replace the mbox 3.

I ordered the Asus ROG g752vt-dh74 and a TB to FireWire adapter for my mbox 3 pro. Thanks for the recommendations.
