Default Reviving 003 LE 7.3 with Mac OS 10.4.11

Hi. I'm a rookie to recording but long time hobby/church performing musician. Bought 003 LE 7.3 in 2007 along with iMac 24" with OS X 10.4.10. Installed and registered PT at that time on the Mac. Did a few track records, then life issues put it back burner. Family has been using Mac as normal computer for last few years. Was upgraded once to OS 10.4.11. PT still installed on Mac. Getting ready to de-commission the Mac as a family computer and dedicate it to the PT so can begin recording/learning PT again. Do you know if I created any issues for PT by 1) updating the Mac OS from 10.4.10 to 10.4.11?. 2) should I be aware of potential issues with having the PT 7.3 inactive for the past 4 years? 3) would it be better to upgrade (if possible) to latest PT version and/or lastest Mac OS? If need I'll pay for one time issue support but only if necessary, so appreciate any advice/suggestions you may have. Thank you.

PPC or Intel CPU?
I don't remember any problems with 10.4.11 and 7.4 but....

7.3.1 works fine on 10.4.11. I have that same computer and used that same setup.

You can continue using it that way if you're satisfied with it.

If you want to use PT9, you'll need to upgrade the OS to either Snow Leopard or Lion. From what I understand, you first need Snow Leopard installed to even buy and install Lion. There may be some Snow Leopard copies still available for sale that you can find.

PT9 also requires an Ilok. Your 003 serial number would qualify you to get PT9 at the $249 crossgrade price.

You can also still buy PT8 from the Avid store for $149, but you would still need to upgrade at least to Leopard to do use that (leopard discs will be much harder to find). If you're going to upgrade you might as well jump to 9.

NOTE: If you do stay on 7.3 and Tiger, be sure to download the latest CS updates for 7.3.1, which I believe is either cs10 or cs11.

Thanks guys for the feedback. For now I'll stick with what I have, getting the CS updates mentioned for 7.3. Take care.
