Does Pro Tools still work with Reason via rewire?
Does the current version of pro tools work with Reason's rewire plugin? For some reason, I dont see the rewire plugin when attempted to add it to an instrument track. When I used pro tools and reason years ago, you could use both Pro Tools and Reason in sync using a rewire plugin.

Re: Does Pro Tools still work with Reason via rewire?
Thanks for clarifying.
Now this means something is wrong with my system. I tried reinstalling reason 10 lite and reason 8 but it still doesn't show up in pro tools as an instrument option. Is there a way to install rewire? Also, Ableton live does show up as an instrument option in pro tools.

Re: Does Pro Tools still work with Reason via rewire?
Rewire is not included in Lite.
What are all the plugins that show up under Propellerhead? |

Re: Does Pro Tools still work with Reason via rewire?
His sig say PT 10 with the CPTK. I'll have to assume that's correct and that Reason 8 is AAX?
If the sig is correct, maybe the Mods can move this to the PT 10 forum.

Re: Does Pro Tools still work with Reason via rewire?
Sorry for the confusion. My signature was outdated. I changed it to what I currently have.
Also, Ive included what options i have in the pro tools plugins list.

Have you trashed Preferences? That should force a rescan of all the plugins when you start Pro Tools so maybe it will show up.

Re: Does Pro Tools still work with Reason via rewire?
Again -- What are all the plugins that show up listed ***under Propellerhead***? ie. organize plugins by Manufacturer.
Reason 8. Does that even support AAX-64? I'd be surprised, if you want to curate a plugin museum you should know this/have checked it already... But go check... is the rewire plugin installed in the plugin folder at all? Seems an obvious thing to check. If it is what is the actual executable type for the plugin? e.g. in Terminal, with Trim as an example... $ cd /Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins $ file Trim.aaxplugin/Contents/MacOS/* Trim.aaxplugin/Contents/MacOS/Trim: Mach-O 64-bit bundle x86_64 $ (showing Trim.aaxplugin in this install is an AAX-64 plugin only) Last edited by Darryl Ramm; 07-01-2020 at 01:38 PM. |

Re: Does Pro Tools still work with Reason via rewire?
I'm using Reason 8.3 successfully with Pro Tools 2020.5.

Re: Does Pro Tools still work with Reason via rewire?
OK then now we know that is supposed to works. It would be good to see the actual plugins physically installed in the folder.
Wasn't there also something about getting Reason in 64-bit mode as well if working with AAX-64 ... can't find a link to that. |
