PT to Airplay

Does anyone know if it's possible to set pro tools to stream to airplay?
I see if I set PT to the internal speaker (mac mini) it comes out there, but in Mac settings, if I set the output to Airplay I hear nothing in my lounge where I have an Airplay receiver.
My session is 24bit 48khz so maybe that is an issue?

One thing to try is www.sonobus.net. Use it to send the mix to your phone and then send from your phone to your Airplay receiver. Not sure if it will work, but SonoBus is free, so no cost, just a little time.

I had high hopes for Audiomovers' new product, Inject, but after installing and trying it did not work. Inject did allow me to output any track in PT to any device connected to my computer (which is cool), but not wireless Airplay devices. I'm still waiting for that gem of a product to be released and have been searching for a reliable option for MANY years.

Connect your Mac to the airplay device in questions.

Open your IO settings and now add the available AirPlay as an Aux IO.

You can now play out to that device.

*** If you're session sample rates does not match the airplay device then this won't work.***

Alternatively, You can Use Sonobus to output to the Airplay device and send audio from Pro Tools to Sonobus.

In the Control Center menu under Sound you can connect your AirPlay available devices.

As long as you're connected to the device before launching Sonobus, you can select Airplay in the Sonobus list of output devices.

But the Sonobus method won't work if Pro Tools is running at a different sample rate.

Silly me. All this time I thought the Airplay devices weren't in that menu. They are there, just all the way at the bottom where I don't look.

I'll have to see how that affects Sonobus' list of available devices.

Sonobus wasn't working for me (or rather it wasn't simple enough to set up so I abandoned it) but I tried Inject (from Audiomovers) again and it did offer Airplay as an option. It was necessary to connect the Mac's audio output to an Airplay destination (as its2loud mentioned) before Inject would see it.

It's $99, so not as attractive as Sonobus from that standpoint, but it seems to be a very simple solution for this.

It's an extra step, but you can always use LISTENO on your master fader, send a link to your phone to listen, then on your phone route the audio to AIRPLAY.
