Default Word clock sync

Trying to connect via spdif my Joe Meek Twin Q preamp, I realised that there is something I don't understand...

First, PT would not let me get starting, saying that the external clock was wrong. In the end I found the right connection and I was able to record. I didn't feel any latency and the recording went smoth. But on the Joe Meek is a blue light that is supouse to blink when the device in connected to a daw. Mine is not blinking.

So...here is the question: The fact that PT is working and that the recording went well implies that PT and the preamp ARE corectly connected?

I'm sure you've heard the old adage that if something sounds good, it is good?

However, does the external-clock light come on?

I've checked the manual and can't find anything concerning the actual functioning of the EXT CLK LED. Bear in mind, that the convention in most digital equipment is that such a light will remain steady if a successfully locked situation is present, and blinks when there is a problem.

Yes, it sounds good, but maybe it can be even better, who knows?:)

This is in the Joemeek Twin Q manual:
‘EXT CLK’ LED – illuminates when the twinQ’s digital output is
successfully locked to an external word clock.

Maybe is not "illuminating" because the 003 is conected to it, and not the other way? Now I feel what I am. 100%newbie.

O.K. Now your post is clearer.

Since the Joe Meek is acting as the "Master " clock, the light will remain off. If you attach an external clock to the JM, meaning it will switch automatically to slave mode, the light will illuminate to indicate a good connection.

So, sing away and make great music.
