Default 002 outputs... Balanced?

Hi everyone.
In our dubbing studio we have two 002 and one 002 Rack units.
The 002 manual states all analogue outputs (except ALT MAIN) are balanced.
Well, mine are not.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, I use the test tone generator plug-in routed to one of the eight TRS outputs. Using a balanced patch cord and a voltmeter (AC) I measure between:

Sleeve and Tip: aprox. 0,56 V AC (at -20 dB FS 1kHz) so far so good
Sleeve and Ring : 0V
Ring and sleeve are not Shorted.

This does not happen with our $$$$ HD system

Before feeling seriously ripped off, please can anyone perform the same test and confirm this?
Thanks

Default Re: 002 outputs... Balanced?

Yea, I'm with you on this. I read the manual that came with version 6.7 LE. Says output connectors are for balanced line. Doesn't actually say they are balanced outputs. The one very poor schematic/block diagram shows a balancing amp on the input, but the outputs are not shown on the schematic. They most likely are single ended, using a TRS. Shouldn't make any difference in the way it sounds.... don't connect the shield, leave it floating.
It's kind of misleading.

What I want to know is.... what is the true operating level of the 002r?
When using the TRS inputs with the switch set on +4, is this switch a pad? OR, when using the TRS inputs with the switch set on -10, is this switch an amp? or what?
